This course is designed for anyone who is interested in learning the foundational concepts of Hadith studies. The course focuses on the teachings of Al-Arba'in al-Nawawiyyah (The Forty Hadith of Nawawi) and the science of Hadith, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of Hadith methodology. Students will explore the significance of Hadith in Islam, its transmission and the grading of Hadith and the ethical teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The course is suitable for individuals with a beginner-level understanding of Islamic studies who wish to deepen their knowledge of Hadith, its principles, and its role in Islamic tradition.

This course aims for learners to:

  • Equip students with the skills to understand and analyse Hadith texts.
  • Introduce students to the core principles of Hadith sciences, including transmission, authentication, and classification.
  • Foster an appreciation for the moral, ethical, and spiritual lessons derived from the Hadith.

This online course (via Zoom) runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (GMT).

Yes, there are mid-term and end-of-term holidays, following the academic calendar for of Birmingham City Council. Students will receive information of exact dates upon enrolment.
